Google has finally turned around to remove the Android Auto app and the Android Auto app is back for Android phones. Users can download the app from the Play Store. The Android Auto app comes with a slightly different icon than the original one.

With the recent Android 10 update, Google incorporated the Android Auto functionality into the Android 10 operating system. So now one could no longer see a separate Android Auto app in the Android phone’s app drawer.

However, the change resulted in an issue for users who did not have vehicles with infotainment systems that did not have Android Auto functionality built in.

As a result, Google has removed the Android Auto app and the Android Auto app is back for Android phones.

The Android Auto app for phone screens is only compatible with smartphones running Android 10.

“This app allows you to use Android Auto on your phone screen with a phone running Android 10. If you have Android 10 and an Android Auto compatible car, you can project on your car screen without downloading this app. Just plug in your phone to get started, ”the company recently noted.

Elaborating on the features, the company added, “Android Auto is your smart driving companion that helps you stay focused, connected and entertained with the Google Assistant. With a streamlined interface, big buttons, and powerful voice actions, Android Auto is designed to make it easier to use the apps you love on your phone when you’re on the road.

Even if this Android Auto app is released again, it is likely that once the Google Assistant driving mode is finally rolled out, Android Auto for phone screens could start at sunset as well.
